Broadway and US Tour Cast Changes!
Tony Award nominee and Broadway.com’s “Star of the Year” Constantine Maroulis will perform for the last time as “Drew” on Broadway Thursday, September 9 before headlining the First National Tour of the smash hit musical ROCK OF AGES, debuting in Chicago on September 21.
Breakout star Joey Taranto will be taking over the role of “Drew” at Broadway’s Brooks Atkinson Theatre (256 West 47th Street).
Additional cast changes to rock you like a hurricane include Mitchell Jarvis playing his final performance as “Lonny” on Sunday, September 5 and taking over the role of “Stacee Jaxx” from James Carpinello, who will play his final performance on a date to be determined. Jay Klaitz, recently of Lend Me a Tenor, to begin performances as “Lonny” on Monday, September 6.
Joey Taranto made his Broadway debut in ROCK OF AGES as a vacation swing and, to date, has only played the role of “Drew” 9 times. And Ladies and Gentleman, that’s all it takes to know he’s got the star power to take on the role of “Drew,” who crushes such songs as “I Wanna Rock,” “Heaven,” “Oh, Sherrie” and so many more eight times a week. A native of Louisiana, Joey grew up traveling and performing with his family in gospel choirs. Regionally he proved he could rock in Rent and Tommy.
Jay Klaitz’s Broadway credits include Lend Me a Tenor and High Fidelity. Other credits include: Expats (the New Group); Frozen River (Sundance Film Festival Grand Jury winner ‘08); Super Powers (Tribeca Film Festival Best Short ’07); guest appearances in “Rescue Me,” and “Law & Order: CI.”
Toronto’s Valerie Stanois on YTV!
Toronto’s own Valerie Stanois will be on YTV’s The Zone talking about Rock of Ages and even teaching the host a few dance moves!
Make sure to tune in Monday, August 16 between 4 and 6pm!

Joey Taranto Lands His Dream Role
From our friends at Broadway.com:
How often do you get to see a young up-and-comer find out he’s just landed the role of his career? That’s exactly what happened when Broadway.com met fresh face Joey Taranto in Times Square. The star-to-be thought he was being interviewed for a piece about Broadway standbys, but he soon learned the real, holy-crap news: He’d been selected by the producers of Rock of Ages to replace Tony nominee Constantine Maroulis in the hit rock musical! Watch for yourself as Constantine breaks the happy news—and be sure check out Taranto in the show (starting September 10) and Maroulis in a city near you, as he takes Rock of Ages on the road!
