Nov 29th – Tuesday, November 29th 2011, was a “totally rad” moment for Broadway.  That night, ROCK OF AGES joined the list of the top one hundred longest running shows on broadway*.  Breaking into the top one hundred during its 1,020th show, ROCK bumped the original stage production of Damn Yankees off the list.   A celebration was held that evening at New York’s Culture Club, attended by ROCK OF AGES cast members and friends of the show.

Emily Padgett will soon be back as ’80s dreamer Sherrie in ‘Rock of Ages.’

Former Rock of Ages star Emily Padgett will return to the Broadway company as Sherrie on November 7. She replaces Rebecca Faulkenberry, who will play her final performance on November 6 before heading to the Foxwoods Theatre as Mary Jane in Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark.

In addition to Rock of Ages, Padgett’s previous Broadway credits include Legally Blonde and Grease. She was recently seen as Eden Siller in the world premiere of White Noise in Chicago, and starred as Sandy in the National Tour of Grease with Taylor Hicks.

Rock of Ages currently stars Dan Domenech as Drew, Jeremy Woodard as Stacee Jaxx, Mitchell Jarvis as Lonny, Adam Dannheisser as Dennis, Cody Scott Lancaster as Franz, Michele Mais as Justice, Josephine Rose Roberts as Regina, and Paul Schoeffler as Hertz. Rounding out the cast are Tessa Alves, Joey Calveri, Ericka Hunter, Tony LePage, Michael Minarik, Jennifer Rias, Andre Ward and Emily Williams.

Rock of Ages is set in 1987 on the Sunset Strip, where a small town girl meets a big city rocker in L.A.’s most famous rock club. Their love story is told through the hits of Journey, Bon Jovi, Styx, Pat Benatar, Foreigner, Twisted Sister, Asia, Whitesnake and many more.

Emily Padgett will return to the role of Sherrie in the Tony Award-nominated Broadway production of Rock of Ages, beginning Nov. 7 at the Helen Hayes Theatre.

Padgett, who last played Sherrie during Rock of Ages’ original run at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre, departed the 1980s-set rock musical to star in the Chicago production of the Broadway-aimed musical White Noise last spring.

She will succeed actress Rebecca Faulkenberry, who departs the production Nov. 6 to join the cast of Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark. Faulkenberry assumed the role of Sherrie when Rock of Ages transferred to the Helen Hayes Theatre March 24.

The cast of Rock of Ages also features Dan Domenech as Drew, Jeremy Woodard as Stacee Jaxx, Mitchell Jarvis as Lonny, Adam Dannheisser as Dennis, Cody Scott Lancaster as Franz, Michele Mais Justice, Josephine Rose Roberts as Regina and Paul Schoeffler as Hertz.

The ensemble includes Tessa Alves, Joey Calveri, Ericka Hunter, Tony LePage, Michael Minarik, Jennifer Rias, Andre Ward and Emily Williams.

The design team includes Beowulf Boritt (scenic design), Gregory Gale (costume design), Jason Lyons (lighting design), Peter Hylenski (sound design) and Zachary Borovay (projection design). Music supervision, arrangements and orchestrations are by Ethan Popp.

The musical comedy Rock of Ages borrows rock hits of the 1980s to tell the story of showbiz lovers in L.A. The score includes “Every Rose Has Its Thorn,” “I Wanna Know What Love Is,” “Here I Go Again,” “Don’t Stop Believin’” and more.

Rock of Ages is written by Chris D’Arienzo, directed by Kristin Hanggi and choreographed by Kelly Devine.

The performance schedule is Monday at 8 PM, Tuesday at 7 PM, Thursday at 8 PM, Friday at 8 PM, Saturday at 2 PM and 8 PM and Sunday at 3 PM and 7:30 PM.

Cast members of the Broadway musicals Rock of Ages and Sister Act will perform from their respective shows at the Grand Opening of Citi Pond at Bryant Park on Friday, October 28. The festivities will begin at 6pm.

The event will also include performances from U.S. national figure skater Kimmie Meissner; synchronized skating team, the Haydenettes; and Lithuanian figure skaters, Isabella Tobias with Deividas Stagniunas. There will also be a live drum line performance by Hillside Elementary School’s “Drums of Thunder.”

Immediately following the event, the public is invited to take the ice to skate until midnight. The first 100 guests to line up for ice skating starting at 5:30pm will be given free skate rentals.

ROCK OF AGES welcomed 80′s pop icon Tiffany last night, July 26, as she made her Broadway debut at the Helen Hayes Theatre.
